Presidents Corner - April 2024

Most of us are glad to see winter in the rearview mirror. Fortunately it was not all that bad. Only had to get the shovel out a few times. Since spring has sprung it also brings mood swings in the weather. And lets not forget the mud and the yard work.
Don't misunderstand me, I am glad to see spring here but there is something to be said about wintery days when you can't go outside to work and just sit in your Lazyboy! Just saying.
If you remember I mentioned in a previous article about a fellow with a deer drone recovery service being charged with operating the done over Welsh Mountain Nature Preserve. It went to court and they found him guilty of operating the drone in a restricted area. He was fined $1500. Could have been a lot worse. The max fine was $2500 and three months in jail. He is filing an appeal.
We have a upcoming local event. Pennsylvania Antique Gun Collectors is having a gun show at East Greenville Fire House. Show hours are Friday March the 29th from 11am to 5pm and Saturday March 30th from 9am to 3pm. Stop in and look at the works of art I have collected through out the years.
Till next month go and defend our Constitution!

Dear members.
I received this yesterday from Michael Blair, our Pa Fish Commission Officer:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (March 28) -- The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced today that several changes are being made to trout stocking locations in Bucks County.
As announced in a news release issued on March 22, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is conducting multiple major construction projects in Delaware Canal State Park, which has resulted in lower than normal water levels within sections of the Delaware Canal (Section 03 and Section 05) that were scheduled to be stocked with trout. Due to these conditions, the PFBC has canceled all trout stockings on the Delaware Canal in 2024.
To offset the loss of angling opportunities caused by these cancelations, the PFBC has identified several alternate locations in Bucks County to stock trout this spring. These waters include:
- Caroline Lake (Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation)
- The Giving Pond (DCNR, Delaware Canal State Park)
- Levittown Lake (PFBC)
Caroline Lake and The Giving Pond are new, temporary additions to the Stocked Trout Waters program, while Levittown Lake is an established stocking location and will receive additional trout this season. Anglers interested in fishing these waters should reference the PFBC’s Trout Stocking Schedule for stocking dates and times.
Best Wishes
